You still pay the cabin rate and keep the whole cabin to yourself — we never add a single supplement for solo guests.

• Your flights and travel to Tortola, and travel insurance
• The BVI cruising permit — $95 per cabin
• Crew gratuity — customary at roughly $800–$1,200 per cabin for the week
• A couple of dinners ashore at island bars and restaurants, and any drinks ashore
• A little taxi or hire-car money for the day exploring Anegada

There's no scuba gear aboard, but it's easy to arrange — just mention it to your captain and they'll organise dive excursions with the local dive companies during the week. Snorkelling gear is included on the boat, and the BVI has some of the best snorkelling in the Caribbean right off the back of the catamaran.

Shared per-cabin departures set a minimum age, so they suit teenagers and adults rather than very young children, and the set route doesn't bend around nap schedules. If you'd like to bring younger children, the answer is usually to book the whole boat as a private charter. It's unlikely. Most of the sailing is in the sheltered Sir Francis Drake Channel — one of the calmest, most protected cruising grounds in the Caribbean — passages are short (usually one to three hours), and catamarans are very stable because they sit on two hulls and barely lean. If you're prone to motion sickness, pack some tablets for the more open crossing to Anegada and you'll likely never need them.

Yes. Once your departure is confirmed it runs as scheduled — there's no minimum number of cabins required for a sailing to go ahead, so you're never cancelled simply because the boat isn't full. On the rare occasion a sailing is quiet, the operator might ask whether you happen to have any flexibility on your dates, but you're under no obligation at all — keep your original dates and the charter operates exactly as planned. Any unbooked cabins are often used by the operator for familiarisation trips, crew training or industry guests, so the boat sails regardless — and a quieter week can simply mean a little more space to yourselves. In short, you can book with complete confidence.

• 90+ days before departure: $300 cancellation fee per cabin.
• 89–60 days before departure: 50% of the deposit/charter price forfeited.
• Inside 60 days of departure: full charter amount forfeited, no refund.
